¡Buen día! This is the first dispatch for Strange Applez coming out of Madrid! So now this substack should be pronounced ‘Strange Appleth’ iykyk.
Anywayyyy, I'm writing this to you while sitting in my little bed in my little airbnb loft. Can’t stand up straight in the loft area but I think it makes it feel kinda cozy??
I’ve been here for about 3 days, so I must admit I don’t quite grasp the sartorial situation yet. The key word being yet. I do however have a decent grip on the food situation. And I’ll start by saying food is significantly cheaper here than in the US. Of course it’s better, don’t even ask.
Okay on TikTok the girlies were loving this Allioli so obviously I had to try it and wow. It’s divine. So I guess in the US we make aoli with mayo but this is made with olive oil and garlic. It’s a garlic spread. It’s fucking fire.
I found an iced beverage and felt that was worth documenting in Europe lol.
Another holy fuck moment. This was INSANE!!!!!
Aside from food shopping, I did go to a Massimo Dutti store IRL for the first time. WOW. I was always a big fan from afar owning a few quality leather pieces from them but damn I love the store concepts. These penny loafers were the most sexy shade of brown that it felt inappropriate. I tried them on and they are comfortable as fuck.
A beautiful dark blue straight leg jeans. Quick question- am I meant to go up a size in something like this? I never know if they’re ok to be a lil tight in the thigh area?? Or do I get this size? Ay yi yi
Enter the brown jean: I loved these jeans so much that I had to hold onto the wall for support from all the emotion. They’re the perfect brown color. Not too cool not too warm. Juuuuust right.
Are you guys freaking out over this leather jacket as much as I am????? I cannot find the link to this jacket on the US site but I swear I will link it to next weeks send. Scouts honor. It is perfectly oversized. This is actually a size small. I am contemplating trying on the XS as well. Stay tuned for what I end up with.

Hear me out— I know these essentially look like leather water shoes but I saw a woman wearing them out in the wild! While I wasn’t brave enough to snap a pic I can confirm they looked cool. And most importantly comfy !!!!
Do I need another pair of trousers? No. Were they the most magical shade of navy blue? Yes. Sadly photos don’t do them justice but they had the slightest sheen that made them look expensive. I forgot to grab a photo in the store but yeah. I can’t stop thinking about them.
Shiny and soft? Idk what more do you want here? They also look super comfy and they’re an easy way to add a little somethin’ extra to an outfit.

for some reason the links say “access denied” for me! jeans always look like that on me because i have low, wide hips and a big booty, but i would say a size up is trendier right now. i think they look a little french when they’re tighter though! makes me think of jeanne damas.
