Madrid thus far
Madrid | Week 2 | Crime scene at the Prada outlet, fun wine vessels and new hair.
Holaaaaa, I’m officially into the 2nd week of my sabbby. Currently struggling with this:
Other than conjugating the living shit out of everything I can report that Madrid has excellent shopping! Not only have I collected some fun items but I’ve also collected a lovely friendship with the most divine 67-year-old divorcé. She’s taught me so much about life in the short time I’ve known her. What a legend. Guys, I’m just genuinely grateful to be making connections with people whose paths I wouldn’t ordinarily cross.
Also popped into Barcelona but more on that later!
Before I tell you what I’ve purchased I need to give a shout-out to 3 things that have been a staple on my trip thus far:
1. Mini sound machine: It’s teeeny tiny but packs a punch. You see the walls of my airbnb are very thin and this lil thang has sponsored many rem cycles.
2. Ruti pants: I technically brought 2 pairs with me- ‘Wide-ish Pants’ that have a zipper & button as well as the ‘On the loose work pants’. They’re the chicest elastic waist pants I’ve ever laid eyes on. I flew in them, I’ve walked many miles in them, I drank expensive cocktails in them and I’ve been rained on in them (quick drying!!). They’re expensive but honestly, my cost per wear at this point has to be pennies. Just a super duper multi-functioning pant. You are welcome.
3. COS Swing Crossbody: I’ve talked about this thing a million times on tiktok. She looks more expensive than she is and it’s really a chic unisex travel bag. Perfect to wear across your front so pickpocketers don’t stand a freakin chance!
Vale (ok), now to the fun stuff:
Olend is a brand I’ve been eyeing from a distance and nearly pulled the trigger on a few months ago until I realized it was a Spanish brand! I figured I’d just buy it in Spain so I could see all the colors in person. News flash, the photos on the website are very accurate to the color IRL. I ended up with the ‘pearl grey’ (light blue to me) color and its such a fun work bag. Fits my laptop, water bottle, sweater, wallet, school books etc. Just all around a great size and very comfortable to wear! Oh! It also turns into a backpack. Muy guey.
I also popped into Loewe and am having serious trouble deciding if I should get a small puzzle or the new Flamenco. I had a puzzle for several years and really loved it (that thing can take a beating) but when I tried on the new Flamenco I got butterflies. It’s also suuuuper multi-functional! Can be a clutch, crossbody & shoulder bag. Comes with 2 straps. I meannnnn come on.

I guess you could say I’m leaning toward the Flamenco at this point but now I must decide on a color. I know, I know. This is a real pattern for me. The classic SOS WHAT FUCKING COLOR DO I BUY question you probably read once a week from me now. So feel free to add your two cents.
Even though I’m still agonizing over the color choice I did end up buying some fun round sunglasses with purple lenses from Loewe. I don’t usually reach for silver hardware but this was an exception.

Speaking of sunglasses- I spent the weekend in Barcelona (hated it) and picked up some Delarge sunnies from Vasquiat. I had never heard of this brand before but they’re Spanish and offer unique shapes!
Went on a food tour and was introduced to a new fun way of drinking wine. Enter the Porrone. You point the tip towards your nose and open your mouth. Very accurate aim. Obviously, I got one. I found some here, here, and here should you want to partake in the wine-drinking fun. This vessel originated in Catalonia I believe.

OH! I also got my hair colored by Jodie Palmer! I’ve been following her on Instagram for years and she gave me her signature hairtan. I’m madly madly in love with it. The color is so delicious, warm, and flattering. Jodie comes to NY sometimes so next time she does I’ll be sure to let everyone know. I’m a hairtan girlie now. I think it does make me look a fair bit Spanith hehe.

No, I didn’t get bangs. Just a trim. But I was veeeery tempted. Maybe next week.
One last moment in Barcelona:
Elizabeth (ilysm) happened to be in Barcelona a few days before and she posted about 2 insane Prada skirts she scored at La Roca Village outlets. I was foaming at the mouth when I saw them so I went there as well. Let’s just say… I murdered the Prada Outlet. Here’s the crime scene:

OMG, I just realized I haven’t eaten a single churro yet.
Fuck.
I gotta go get one. See you next week!
